Does this actually work in hot weather, or will it trap heat?

Evaporative cooling works best in dry-to-moderate conditions. In low to medium humidity, the vest actively pulls heat away from the dog's body as moisture evaporates through the outer layer. In very high humidity, evaporation slows — but the outer layer still reflects direct sunlight and UV rays, which provides meaningful relief even when evaporation stalls. We always recommend combining the vest with shade breaks and hydration in extreme heat.

Will it chafe or irritate my dog?

The vest is made from soft, lightweight polyester with a cut that leaves the shoulders free. We've designed the armhole opening to minimise any contact with the armpit during movement. If your dog shows any signs of redness or irritation after use, remove the vest and contact our support team.

Does the material go stiff when it dries out?

How do I measure my dog for the right size?

Measure your dog's chest at the widest point, which sits just behind their front legs. Compare this to the chest range in our size chart above. If your dog is at the upper end of a size range, we recommend sizing up. For brachycephalic breeds like Bulldogs, Pugs, and French Bulldogs — who have wider barrel chests relative to their length — sizing up is almost always the right move.
